BICAF 2015, Bolgatanga, Africa's 2nd Fair Trade Town
Bolgatanga, Ghana became Africa’s 2nd Fair Trade Town in 2014 and since then has hosted the Bolgatanga International Crafts and Arts Fair (BICAF); an annual trade fair showcasing the talents of the Upper East region's renowned crafts people, the work of artisans across Ghana and the rest of the world. Now in its third year BICAF 2016 will be held from 1st - 4th December at the Jubilee park, Bolgatanga.
BICAF places skilled people from the Upper East and beyond on an international stage, giving them a chance to be recognised for their work. By drawing attention to the 'craft capital' of the North, BICAF also provides the local producers with access to globally competitive markets, aiding the town's economic development in addition to growing global trade links.
