Communication from Costa Rica

2016-06-20

The National Network of Small Producers’ Organizations of Costa Rica-Panama (CNCJCRP) coordinates the development of the “Latin American Fair Trade Towns” campaign in Costa Rica.

The campaign “Latin American Fair Trade Towns” it’s an indispensable initiative to promote awareness and advocacy around the importance of new fair trade and solidarity consumption relations across the continent.CNCJCR

As CNCJCR, we believe that integrating the different actors of all local communities in the country (municipalities, schools, public institutions, private companies and civil society) we can build a more just society and a more solidary and inclusive economy.

From the CNCJCR and the Fair Trade Small Producers’ Organizations of Costa Rica we support and coordinate the global and Latin American campaign in the country, and we are already working with public and private sectors to develop it in the country.

We want to communicate to all international actors of the “Fair Trade Towns” movement that, to better manage and develop the campaign throughout the country, the CNCJCR assumed and manages the coordination at national level. In this way, we will continue positioning the campaign with public and private actors, and with civil society, because they can join us in this path. In this way, we will better coordinate the work with the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Fair Trade Small Producers and Workers (CLAC); that, together with WFTO-LA, is leading the campaign in Latin America and the Caribbean.
